Hello, I can reproduce this bug only in a chroot without dbus installed. But, without DBus, it shouldn't even work.
Do both of you have it installed?
I'm now adding it to wicd dependencies.
Please tell me if you can consistently reproduce the bug, and:
@Andrew Lee: does installing dbus solve it?
@Oz N: the postinst already has a force-reload on dbus, so if it didn't work,
maybe it's unrelated to wicd. We'll investigate further and clone the
bug, if it's a different issue than Andrew's.
@both: please check whether you have an environment variable
$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS set. This is used in the postinst to check
wheter dbus is running. I should probably start it if it's not running,
though.
