Package: insserv Version: 1.12.0-10 Severity: wishlist Some scripts only need to run if some other subsystem does not. For example, hwclock and hwclockfirst should only run if udev does not. Currently, they must do so by always running, and checking the condition they need. However, the condition only changes when the set of init scripts changes; thus, ideally the script could just have no start/stop links when it need not run. I'd propose something like this:
