Package: gnome-core Version: 1:2.26+0 Severity: normal I recently realised that adding a shortcut to the desktop, either via right-clicking on a menu item and selecting "Add this launcher to desktop", or even by simply dropping files onto the desktop, or into ~/Desktop, none of these does update the appearance of the desktop.
A log-out and re-login is necessary to show these items. That is not what is expected. Please reassign as appropriate. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-rc8 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnome-core depends on: ii eog 2.26.2-1 Eye of GNOME graphics viewer progr ii gedit 2.26.1-1 official text editor of the GNOME ii gnome-applets 2.26.3-2 Various applets for the GNOME pane ii gnome-control-center 1:2.26.0-1 utilities to configure the GNOME d ii gnome-icon-theme 2.26.0-1 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gnome-menus 2.26.1-2 an implementation of the freedeskt ii gnome-panel 2.26.3-1 launcher and docking facility for ii gnome-session 2.26.2-1 The GNOME Session Manager ii gnome-settings-daemon 2.26.1-2 daemon handling the GNOME session ii gnome-terminal 2.26.2-2 The GNOME terminal emulator applic ii gvfs 1.2.3-3 userspace virtual filesystem - ser ii metacity 1:2.26.0-3 lightweight GTK+ window manager ii nautilus 2.26.3-1 file manager and graphical shell f ii yelp 2.26.0-3 Help browser for GNOME gnome-core recommends no packages.
