Package: prelude-manager Version: 0.9.13-1 Severity: minor
It appears that with the shipping configuration of prelude-manager, logrotate will generate an error due to 2 missing files it's expecting to find. These are: /var/log/prelude-manager/prelude.log /var/log/prelude-manager/prelude-xml.log The shipping prelude-manager.conf does not do any logging to these (or any other) files. Also, there are lines commented out that would place those files in /var/log/ when uncommented (as opposed to /var/log/prelude-manager where logrotate expects them. Considering neither logfile is enabled by default, and I think that normally 1 of them (but not both) would be used, I suggest adding "missingok" to /etc/logrotate.d/prelude-manager for both files, to suppress errors for missing file(s). Second, I think it makes sense to change the default (commented out) location of these files to /var/log/prelude-manager, to avoid leaving the incorrect impression that /var/log is correct, which would work without complaint but obviously no log rotation would take place there. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages prelude-manager depends on: ii adduser 3.110 add and remove users and groups ii dbconfig-common 1.8.39 common framework for packaging dat ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcrypt11 1.4.4-3 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libgnutls26 2.8.3-1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libprelude2 0.9.18.1-1 Hybrid Intrusion Detection System ii libpreludedb0 0.9.14.1-2 Hybrid Intrusion Detection System ii libxml2 2.6.32.dfsg-5+lenny1 GNOME XML library ii ucf 3.0016 Update Configuration File: preserv Versions of packages prelude-manager recommends: ii mysql-client-5.0 [mysq 5.0.51a-24+lenny1 MySQL database client binaries prelude-manager suggests no packages. -- debconf information: prelude-manager/password-confirm: (password omitted) prelude-manager/pgsql/app-pass: (password omitted) prelude-manager/mysql/admin-pass: (password omitted) prelude-manager/app-password-confirm: (password omitted) prelude-manager/pgsql/admin-pass: (password omitted) prelude-manager/mysql/app-pass: (password omitted) prelude-manager/db/basepath: prelude-manager/pgsql/authmethod-user: password prelude-manager/missing-db-package-error: abort prelude-manager/pgsql/authmethod-admin: ident prelude-manager/pgsql/no-empty-passwords: prelude-manager/internal/skip-preseed: false prelude-manager/mysql/admin-user: root * prelude-manager/database-type: mysql prelude-manager/pgsql/method: unix socket prelude-manager/remote/port: prelude-manager/mysql/method: unix socket prelude-manager/upgrade-error: abort prelude-manager/remove-error: abort prelude-manager/pgsql/manualconf: prelude-manager/db/dbname: prelude prelude-manager/purge: false prelude-manager/db/app-user: prelude prelude-manager/remote/host: prelude-manager/passwords-do-not-match: prelude-manager/pgsql/changeconf: false * prelude-manager/dbconfig-install: true prelude-manager/pgsql/admin-user: postgres prelude-manager/install-error: abort prelude-manager/internal/reconfiguring: false prelude-manager/remote/newhost: prelude-manager/dbconfig-reinstall: false prelude-manager/dbconfig-remove: prelude-manager/dbconfig-upgrade: true prelude-manager/upgrade-backup: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
