Package: nvidia-glx Version: 185.18.31-2 Severity: normal After upgrading to 185.18.31, I get a black screen and my laptop hangs. This seems to have been reported against the Ubuntu package already, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-180/+bug/417373
According to this bug report the 185.18.31 driver release is known to be broken for some mobile GPUs and should be replaced by the 185.18.36 driver. This is a Thinkpad T61 with the Quadro NVS 140M graphics card. -- Package-specific info: uname -r: Linux bender 2.6.30-1-686 #1 SMP Sat Aug 15 19:11:58 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux /proc/version: Linux version 2.6.30-1-686 (Debian 2.6.30-6) ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.3.4 (Debian 4.3.4-1) ) #1 SMP Sat Aug 15 19:11:58 UTC 2009 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Quadro NVS 140M (rev a1) -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages nvidia-glx depends on: ii libc6 2.9-25 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libx11-6 2:1.2.2-1 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii nvidia-kernel-2.6.3 185.18.31-2+2.6.30-6 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Li ii x11-common 1:7.4+4 X Window System (X.Org) infrastruc nvidia-glx recommends no packages.
