Running lsusb at lvm2 start shows the USB mass storage device with the LVM volumes. Is there perhaps an issue with mounting of virtual filesystems. Could it be that a virtual filesystem that LVM depends on to mount USB is not available? Mounting of swap occurs directly after LVM initialization and succeeds.
