In the packaging intended for unstable [1], the LZMA Utilities compatibility programs are split off into a separate xz-lzma package. xz-utils happily coexists with lzip, but xz-lzma has a (now declared) conflict with versions of lzip that include lzdiff and lzgrep. Lzip version 1.8 rc2 will no longer include the conflicting files, so luckily that conflict does not need to be permanent.
