This bug still exists. Sendmail fails to install:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: sendmail: Depends: sendmail-base (= 8.13.4-3) but 8.13.4-4 is to be installed Depends: sendmail-bin (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed Depends: sendmail-cf (= 8.13.4-3) but 8.13.4-4 is to be installed Depends: sensible-mda (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rmail (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages and # apt-get install sendmail Reading package # lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: sendmail: Depends: sendmail-bin (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed Depends: sendmail-cf (= 8.13.4-3) but 8.13.4-4 is to be installed Depends: sensible-mda (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rmail (= 8.13.4-3) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages The initial reporter of this bug is correct that the only way to get sendmail to install is to install postfix first and then install sendmail. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
