Hi,
the current version fails to build on GNU/kFreeBSD.
It is due to outdated libtool, libtool 1.5.2-1 or later is need.
The debian/rules tries to use system installed libtool,
but the location of files is slightly different with libtool 2.
Moreover some test are still from ancient libtool.
Please just perform
autoreconf -vfi
and drop lines 10-20, 24-28 and 40-53 from debian/rules.
It would also be nice if you can ask upstream to update libtool
in their next release.
