i think the content-type should be ok, i can add an additional check to
the patch if you wnat to use it, (needs cleanups anyway)

i fully agree that it *should* not be uscan's work, but those (sf.net) 
mirrors are used very often, and a re deliberately broken, so it's
unlikely that they will get fixed. having uscan take care of the
workaround is better than having everyone do so int their watchfiles in
a fragile way, or relying on external php+rewrite+someweb_server tricks.
the patch should be cleaned up and improved though, which i will gladly
do if this is wanted.
