Package: lcdproc Version: 0.5.2-3 Severity: normal The current Debian package does not support devices such as PicoLCD 4X20 (http://www.mini-box.com/PicoLCD-4X20-Sideshow) out of the box.
I dowloaded the archive from their web site (http://resources.mini-box.com/online/picolcd/4x20/lcdproc-bin-picolcd-20x4-0.5.2-cvs.tgz) and — aarrgghh — just copied the file picolcd.so from this archive into the /usr/lib/lcdproc/ directory and it just works. Why is picolcd.so missing?
