Hi,

While looking for init scripts with a missing dependency on $remote_fs, I 
found yours to be testing for the existence of a /usr/bin binary:

> # Gracefully exit if the package has been removed.
> test -x `which fusermount` || exit 0

$ which fusermount
/usr/bin/fusermount

Not depending on $remote_fs can prevent some fuse-enabled partitions from 
being (u)mounted by the fuse init scripts.

All is needed is:
