my_preferred_editor=emacs It's missing all $my_preferred_editor features. I like when the applications I use call my configured editor when I'll have to edit something, and this is a good feature of the text interface of reportbug. I may have expressed myself not very clearly on the bug report, but what I meant is that it'd be good to have an option to use the external editor. Hope now it's clear.
