Package: python-central
Version: 0.6.8
Severity: normal

Hi,

trying to install 'bzr' after possibly using a local version, I get:

# dpkg -D113 --configure bzr
Setting up bzr (1.13.1-1~bpo50+1) ...
D000002: fork/exec /var/lib/dpkg/info/bzr.postinst ( configure 1.5-1~bpo40+1 )
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: not overwriting local files
pycentral pkginstall: not overwriting local files
dpkg: error processing bzr (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 bzr

As you can see, none of the debug flags of 'dpkg' is being honoured by
python-central, thus making this part of the installation rather opaque.
This makes a large part of the debugging options of dpkg, and maybe
other package managing programs, rather useless.

It would be great if someone could unbreak this aspect of package
handling.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
