I'm going to apply a modified version of this patch before the next version. This behavior has also bothered me. Francesco, what's your opinion on making it default to false? (changing the default behavior). In that case, perhaps an option shouldn't even be added and the behavior should just change. I am considering doing that.. of course, others are welcome to voice their opinions as well :). also, perhaps I have not thought this through well..
