Hi,
I've been trying to package PETSc 2.2.1 for Debian. It hasn't been easy. I
tried using your 2.2.0 packages, but had difficulty understanding all the
details, so opted to do packaging from scratch.
Test packages are at
deb http://www.cbcb.duke.edu/~faheem/debian/ ./
deb-src http://www.cbcb.duke.edu/~faheem/debian/ ./
apt-get source petsc
apt-get install libpetsc
I've packaged 2.2.1 since I want to use DOLFIN
(http://www.fenics.org/dolfin/), and that is what they were using until
recently. They've just switched to 2.3.
One problem these packages have is that the load paths are compiled in, so
that makes them currently unusable, since the load path corresponds to
where they were compiled.
If you have any plans to package more recent versions of PETSc in the near
future, please let me know.
I feel rather out of my depth here, and would be glad to abandon these
packaging efforts, and let someone who knows what he is doing do it. :-)
