Severity: wishlist

Hi,

The dwm-tools package is very useful with minimalistic window managers
other than dwm, so I think it should Suggests: instead of Recommends:
dwm. While at it, its description could be changed, too, to explain
what it is other than an add-on for dwm. Maybe something like:

This package provides simple commands to support a menu, dock, screen
locking, and so on in X without the help of a window manager. They
were designed to be used with a minimalistic window manager like dwm
but they can be useful in scripts regardless of the window manager
used.

Seven commands are provided: dmenu, a generic menu for X; lsw, which
lists window titles; slock, a screen locker; sselp, which prints the X
selection; ssid, a wrapper for the setsid system call; swarp, a mouse
pointer warper; and wmname, which sets or prints the window manager's
declared name.

The wmname command is mostly useful for tiling ("non-reparenting")
window managers: certain programs (programs using Sun's Java 1.6
runtime) will not work at all with such window managers unless their
declared name is that of one of the well known compositing window
managers.

Regards,
Jonathan Nieder
