Hi,

You might be interested to know that the Ipe author, having been
bitten by one too many "minor" freetype changes, has resorted to a
runtime check of the freetype version. If the M.m.r number does not
match, Ipe refuses to run; c.f. BTS 315823.

In short, he doesn't trust the freetype authors to maintain
compatibility across minor revisions. It looks like his paranoia
pays off ;-)

However, that means I (as ipe maintainer) need to rebuild it everytime
a new upstream freetype is uploaded. To avoid ipe version churn, I
have an interest in knowing what the resolution of this bug will be:
whether freetype 2.1.7 will return or whether 2.1.10 will be fixed
somehow. And -- if you have any idea -- in what time frame do you
expect this to be fixed?

Thanks,
-Steve
