As with a good old tape recorder, I'd like to listen to Internet radio and
press 'record'
and 'stop'. Configuration should include:
- a buffer of configurable length so that if 'record' is pressed, the previous
10 seconds
or so are included in the recording
- the name of the file dumped should be configurable to contain the stream
designation and
the start and end time of the recording as well as possible ICY tags
BTW, I am using a script to listen to streams; I enclose it if anyone is
interested:
- the URL is first searched until a stream URL is found (using 'wget')
- some streams are interrupted from time to time; the script then restarts the
player

- the window title reflects what's going on
- audible signals mark the script's progress while looking for the correct URL
and while
restarting the player (so you know what's happening without looking at the
screen)
