I think I managed to fix such issues by killing all tracker processes, removing its directories, namely : $HOME/.local/share/tracker/ $HOME/.cache/tracker/ $HOME/.config/tracker/, then restarting the tracker-applet and the indexing preferences, where I changed for more conservative options (such like the ones I'd like to see as defaults, see #525107). Now, tracker is no longer in my way, and the system becomes usable back.
