The changelog entry didn't give me any hint that this bug was addressed in any way except “upstream says wontfix”. I don't want to nag, but a better changelog entry would have led the reader to expect the changed behaviour you describe. Anyway, no hard feeling, just explaining how this state of affairs came to be.
