        -rw-r--r--  1 slm4auto auto 216 2005-06-30 11:12 foo
        lftp [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/slm/txt> mv foo bar
        Access failed: 550 bar: Permission denied on server. (rename) (foo)

Rename should overwrite destination if it exists.
