What do you mean by "uses a very large window"? Audio files (your sample included) play just fine on my system: the undecorated window size is 310x133 pixels. Note that you can change the window size with the width and height options, as well as saving them in your configuration (check edit->preferences, interface tab, tick "remember window location and size") , so its possible that you are doing either of those?
