Update on the asterisk-gui ITP: not going anywhere for now. I spent some time recently trying to update asterisk-gui .
Sadly I could not get much farther. It kept looping at startup and upstream has been quite uncooperative. Debugging the maze of client-side Javascript has proved to be quite uncooperative: http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=14840 Current version of the package will not work with latest Asterisk 1.6.1 and DAHDI. My work-in-progress patches to adapt some SVN version (that does support them) is at my working copy if anybody wants to pursue this. But it seems that the asterisk-gui is something designed for asterisk running as root and executing shell commands provided from the user with minimal or no filtering.
