Package: libsane
Version: 1.0.19-26
Severity: normal
My HP PSC 1610 is only recognized for user root, with a regular user it is not
recognized.
Under user root the scanner works perfectly, I can use it with xsane without
problem.
I maintain my system up to date with respect to testing very often (every two
or three days) but I use my scanner not so often so I am not able to say when
this problem arrive, I can say about one month ago my scanner was usable for a
regular user.
I found if I add the following rule in /etc/udev/z60_libsane.rules the problem
is solved but I don't know why and if it is completly solved :
# USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x4811 [PSC 1600 series])
SYSFS{idVendor}=="03f0", SYSFS{idProduct}=="4811", MODE="0664",
GROUP="scanner", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
