As a followup to my hg bisect findings, I tracked the evolution of the
changes introduced by changeset 9622:bea92dd4ea91 and found that the
behaviour of that particular code is controlled by a
#define AVCODEC_HAS_REORDERED_OPAQUE
in src/combined/ffmpeg/ff_video_decoder.c
If I manually undefine AVCODEC_HAS_REORDERED_OPAQUE, I am able to build
a working xine-lib from hg tip. Now I'm not sure if this means there's a
bug in ffmpeg or xine-lib's use of ffmpeg.
Suggestions?
