Package: gecko-mediaplayer Version: 0.9.4-1 Severity: wishlist I think it would be nice if this plugin started with the controls visible to the user. It's main advantage over mozilla-mplayer is the GTK interface, so there should be no reason for hiding it by default. The controls can be seen by right-clicking the media and choosing "Show Controls", but I think it made more sense if it was shown by default.
Perhaps it would be nice if the control bar was a bit smaller for videos with a small window, or maybe show it only after a certain resolution, when it would be acceptable to show them (see the videos on the left at [1]). Also, I believe it should start with the videos on pause. On pages with multiple videos available (see [1]), it makes no sense to start playing all of the media on the page instantly. I think it would make more sense if it only played each video when the user requests it. Maybe starting automatically when the page only has one media component, and starting on pause when it has more than one would be the best solution.
