When entering LaTeX-text the following error message is displayed "Ipe has been compiled using header files of Freetype version 2.1.7, but is linked to library version 2.1.10. No text display is possible." and the compiled text is not shown. Building the debian packages "ipe" and "libipe1" locally fixed the problem.
