Why do you think it is so important that knife is based on TakTuk that
it should be specified in the short description ?
The long description gives arguments about TakTuk: "It relies on TakTuk
for efficiency and scalability". Without them (ie "efficiency and
scalability"), TakTuk would have been removed from the description.
The dependency would have been enough (similarly, the description do not
talk about perl).

I doubt that TakTuk is so much well-known that talking about it in the
short description would help users.
And, if you search tool around TakTuk, you find kanif easily:
$ apt-cache search taktuk
kanif - cluster management and administration swiss army knife
libtaktuk2 - C bindings for taktuk
libtaktuk2-dev - C bindings for taktuk (development files)
taktuk - efficient, large scale, parallel remote execution of commands
$
What do you mean when you say that "that's not available for quick
searches" ?
