Hello Andreas, Thanks for the patch.
I've added the bit declaring SoTempPath in SoPath.h. The rest of your patch appears to consist of removing 32-bit-specific code. I don't feel this is a good solution. Does inventor build if you simply define __ia64? I'd test this myself, but I can't find an amd64 machine with GCC 4.0 installed.
