According to the Severity: definition [1], I would consider this bug not
a grave one, but an important instead, since ATM it seems to affect only
printers from the HP LaserJet 10xx series. I would downgrade it in a
week if no one complains before.

Which packages were upgraded just before the printer stopped?

Have you upgraded the foo2zjs package itself in the while? In this
case, this could be related to bug #477923 [2], even if the firmware is
correctly loaded.

Are there any other messages in /var/log/syslog* or /var/log/cups/*?

The major problem is that I do not have an HP LaserJet 1018 nor a 1020
one. I bcc:ed some people I know have either such printers or other
models affected by bug #477923 [2], just to confirm your problem and
maybe get more hint on the causes.

FWIW, I am working on a new package version (today's upstream), which
will be updated probably tomorrow after I will have tested it. Please
confirm that this bug is present with the new version as well.

Thx, bye,
