Yes, I realize that, but this is an uncommon situation where a GPL package is being developed to generate a non-free one. Similar to the game-data-packager, googleearth-package, java-package and vmware-package, I developed sqldeveloper-package which lives on <http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/contrib/s/sqldeveloper-package>. sqldeveloper-package is GPL and it fulfills requirements to belong to main (I classified it as contrib, because all other packages of its sort are in contrib), and its purpose is to generate a local installable SQL Developer package. Since someone might decide to try either a similar or other approach this ITP is just to avoid duplication of efforts. I believe that sqldeveloper-package, if ever accepted, should close this ITP, since it's its purpose.
