Hey Luca, I think you're tracing the wrong codepath. (And I'm not really surprised that you get NULL pointers, as I doubt any applications actually has Categories=Bar) If I'm not mistaken, the code responsible for displaying icons on the desktop in the illume window is _apps_populate, in illume/e_mod_win.c. The results here might be more interesting, especially because there seem to be some special-casing in the function.
