I have a new version of the upstream package (0.3.4) with autotools and
configure support, which will detect if libacpi is available. I have contacted
the current upstream to see if he's willing to accept this new release and
incorporate it in its page.
In the meantime I'll work on the debian/control tweaks.
This bug will be closed on the next upload (just the time to get in touch with
the maintainer)
