Hi!

This bug seemed to have been gone for a while (at least it hasn't been
bothering me), but after my upgrade to gnome 2.10, it's back. The vim
config
  set guifont=Fixed\ Semi-Condensed\ 10
has worked fine ever since it was suggested in the bug log, but now it
stopped working: I just get the normal Fixed 10 instead of the
semicondensed style.

This is a bit weird though, as the font selection window in vim (I guess
this is a Gnome or gtk thing) now actually has the option to select a
semicondendensed style. It doesn't make a difference though: the
semicondensed and regular style are identical. Curiously, it works
correctly for the bold and oblique semicondensed styles.
(See http://www.zoetekouw.net/screens/screen49.png)
FWIW: the semicondensed fixed font still works correctly in
non-fontconfig apps (such as the terminals in the screenhot).

Anyway, I have the following version of relevant packages installed:
libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1
vim-gnome 6.3-078+1
libgtk2.0-0 2.6.8-1
libgnome2-0 2.10.0-3
fontconfig 2.3.2-1
xfonts-100dpi-transcoded 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14
