Hi, when I use iceweasel normally, I have it set to prompt me for an application to use when selecting .pdf files, with kpdf being an available option. Today I selected kpdf from within iceweasel as usual, read some of the pdf document and closed kpdf. I later wanted to read some more of the pdf file, so I opened the downloads window, right clicked on a pdf file recently downloaded. I then had the "launch application" window appear, and as kpdf did not appear in the list of applications, I selected "Choose an Application". The "Another Application..." window appeared but it took a long time to process the contents of /usr/bin, when it should only be obtaining a list of directory names and executable file names, not reading the header of each file and processing it.
