Package: partman
Version: whatever's in the Debian 3.1 r0a sparc install CD
Problem:
I was trying to set up a RAID1 scheme on a Sun Ultra 1, and to do that you
apparently need to mark each partition as type 0xFD (Linux RAID
Autodetect) before you can use the RAID setup (mdcfg). If I open a
partition info page in partman and go into the "Use as" menu, there isn't
any "physical volume for RAID" option. I see options for ext3, ext2,
reiserfs, "physical volume for LVM", etc, but no RAID. And since the
installer CD doesn't have fdisk on it, I can't just change the partition
types to 0xFD behind partman's back! Is the option really missing, or am
I going crazy?
I'm proceeding with everything installed on one disk in the hopes that I
can run mdadm later and make the RAID1 volume, but I'll need pointers to
that too.
