When GIMP is started under gscan2pdf (Tools/GIMP) it loads the
splashscreen and plugins and modules. This adds
time before GIMP becomes available for use. Suggest that either:
1. it is started in a minimal way eg
without splash screen
without fonts
without data (Do not load patterns, gradients, palettes, or brushes.
Often useful in non-interactive
situations where start-up time is to be minimized)
eg gimp -s -f -d
all designed to reduce start up time
or
2. provide option that the GIMP is started with a box to enter the start
up command line options to be entered
(either on each instance of GIMP started or being set as a preference,
such as in Edit/Preferences).
