Please have a look at the analysis on
http://wiki.debian.org/GnomePythonSplitting that shows the potential of
splitting in gnome-python-desktop.

If we split out every module that is used by a subset of packages to
shorten their dependencies, we will end up with 10 packages, not 2.
It’s not a bad idea in itself, but it is a bit of work to do it
correctly, and a bit of clutter in the archive.

We’ll probably think about it again when GNOME 2.24 is in unstable.
