I suspect the case was never checked in compilation, probably because
the case wasn't enabled. I know that upstream is rooting out all the
G__OLDIMPLEMENTATION<XXX>, so the problem may no longer be there for
newer releases.
The next release of the Debian packages of ROOT will hopefully soon be
available (not for lenny though), so maybe the bug will be fixed there
already.
