I tried this patch: $ patch -p0 <mtink-1.0.14-ru_font.patch patching file mtink-1.0.14/mainSrc/resource.c patching file mtink-1.0.14/utils/Mtink.Ru Then I recompiled the sources and got all the same as I described the result of the "way1": $ mtink Warning: Cannot convert string "*-urw palladio l-bold-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r" to type FontStruct Warning: Cannot convert string "*-urw palladio l-*-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r" to type FontStruct The same problem with -r as with -ru...
