I am useing opendns and pdnsd's reject statements to prevent it from redirecting me to its search engine or giving false information about google's ip address (reject_policy is set to fail with alternative servers used as a fallback) For unkown reasons if i do a dns serch from a program that checks both ipv6 and ipv4 (for example iceweasel) pdnsd will cache cname records despite them eventually pointing to a rejected ip address. It will not cache the final A record but when it checks with the fallback servers it uses the cached cname and returns the ip address that should have been rejected. I determined this behaviour by trial and error, without fallback servers pdnsd wouldn't return anything if an ip was rejected.
