Package: ifupdown
Version: 0.6.8
Severity: important
Hello,
I have an Etch machine (i686) which sometimes fails to bring up aliased
interfaces on reboot, coming online with only the primary IP address.
When I log in and say "ifup -a", all aliases are brought up without any
problem.
My /etc/interfaces looks very similar to this:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.5.18
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.5.1
auto eth0:1
iface eth0:1 inet static
address 10.1.1.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
auto eth0:2
iface eth0:2 inet static
address 10.1.2.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
auto eth0:3
iface eth0:3 inet static
address 10.1.3.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
auto eth0:4
iface eth0:4 inet static
address 10.1.4.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
auto eth0:5
iface eth0:5 inet static
address 10.1.5.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
auto eth0:6
iface eth0:6 inet static
address 10.1.6.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
(only with different IP numbers)
Kind regards,
