I do agree with Thomas that this is best fixed by adding the appropriate config files, which means that this must be changed in the simple example.
The question of severity arises: According to #481871, the simple example cannot be used with softupdates out-of-the-box anyway. Because of the merge, #502394 will now be forcibly downgraded to wishlist, which may or may not be to your liking, but is the same severity as the other ready-for-softupdate requests. I think we should close all of these bug reports in a single release, and as this is documentation only, it might well make it into lenny. Patches should be ready for most of those bugs anyway.
