BTW, while we are at it, it would be wonderful if there were a way for
that snippet to also automatically discover TG_BRANCHES, so that using
topgit would be even easier.  I presume it shouldn't be difficult (all
topgit branches have .top* stuff), even though it might be too slow to
be used in practice. Just an idea ...
