Hi,
Today I tried to backup one of my windows machines via the smb xfer
method. I set all the relevant backuppc configuration options including
$Conf{SmbSharePasswd}, but the backups kept failing. In the xferlog I
could see that smbclient was trying to do an anonymous login which was
denied by the windows host. After removing the -N option for smbclient
in $Conf{SmbClientFullCmd}, $Conf{SmbClientIncrCmd}, and
$Conf{SmbClientRestoreCmd} it started to work.
It seems the meaning of the smbclient -N option has changed? If its
present on the command line then no password is sent to the remote host,
and an anonymous login is attempted.
The -N option should probably be removed in the default config.pl that
ships with backuppc.
