I did remove some hyphens from the start of those make commands in 0.75-1,
after lintian pointed them out to me.
Unfortunately in my testing there was always something for debian/rules clean
to delete.
I'll upload a 0.75-2 to use rm -f where necessary. Maybe that'll give me a
shot at #500000. :)
