Thanks to your colleague Andrew Ruthven, molly-guard 0.4 learnt to use /etc/molly-guard/run.d and what you describe sounds like a very simple script in there. If you wrote such a script and tested it, made it configurable (i.e. reboot-only in /etc/molly-guard/rc), then I see no reason why I wouldn't add it to the package. Looking at the package though, I see that it's likely not going to support your use case right now, since I only export $MOLLYGUARD_CMD, not $MOLLYGUARD_CMDARGS.
