Package: cpufreqd
Severity: normal
Hi,
This is easy to replicate.
1. aptitude install cpufreqd
2. aptitude (remove|purge) cpufreqd
Be greeted by:
Removing cpufreqd ...
* Stopping CPU Frequency daemon cpufreqd
* /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d: line 446: 12072 Terminated
* "${INITDPREFIX}${INITSCRIPTID}" "${saction}" "$@"
invoke-rc.d: initscript cpufreqd, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: error processing cpufreqd (--purge):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 143
I don't know if it works with apt-get, but I suspect not.
Workaround is to /etc/init.d/cpufreqd stop, before removing the package.
This is with 2.3.3-1 in Lenny as of today.
Antony
