Package: yaboot Version: 1.3.13a-1 Severity: normal
Situation: - IBM p52a - LPAR with diskspace served via VIOS 1.5 (an LV, not a physical disk) - virtual console accessed via HMC The problem is that the yaboot configuration-file is installed in /etc. /etc can be in a logical volume: in that case yaboot fails to find its configurationfile at boottime and so fails to boot the Debian system. Solution would be putting that configfile in /boot like grub does. Current workaround is not to use LVM at all. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-powerpc64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages yaboot depends on: ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries Versions of packages yaboot recommends: pn hfsutils <none> (no description available) ii powerpc-utils 1.1.3-22 Various utilities for Linux/PowerP yaboot suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
